The St Joseph Benton Girls basketball team pulled off what may be the upset of the season. Benton handed Maryville just their second loss of the season to win the Class 4 District 16 championship at Maryville 45 to 40. Maryville ends with a 22-2 record while Benton, which beat Chillicothe in the district semifinals, advances to the sectional round with a 13-9 record. The Lady Cardinals will take on KC Center with an 8-11 record.
The Benton Boys team will try to join the Lady Cards in sectionals when they play Richmond, which has a 21-3 record, tonight at 6:00pm in the boys final.
