CHS Basketball Season Recap

With the Chillicothe Basketball season over, it’s time to recap the Girls season and check the final statistics and school top ten lists.
The Chillicothe Lady Hornets basketball team finished 17-8 overall, their eighth consecutive winning season, the longest streak in Lady Hornets Basketball history.
The team averaged just under 50 points per game, shot 46% in two point shots and 34.5% from three point range.
Jessica Reeter led the team in scoring with 303 points, or just over 12 points per game. Essie Hicks was second with 279 points and just over 11 points per game.
Jolie Bonderer led in rebounds with 154. Reeter dished out the most assists with 64 and Hicks was the woman of steals with 40, one more than Lucy Reeter.
Reeter set a school record with eight 3-point shots made, against Lathrop. That broke the former school record of seven, most recently by Jordan Hibner in the 2018-19 season.
Reeter finished with 65 treys on the season, 4th all time. Jolie Bonderer was fifth al time in three point field goal percentage at 45%
The team finished third in three-point field goals with 156 on the season.
The team will graduate just one Senior: starting post player Brooke Horton.

Checking the Chillicothe Boys Basketball season recap the season, final statistics and school top ten lists.
Chillicothe finished 15-10 on the season marking their 8th consecutive winning season. Coach Tim Cool now has as many winning seasons at Chillicothe as the late Coach Rich Fairchild had as the Hornet Boys Head Coach.
Hornets Sophomore Griff Bonderer broke the school single-season three point record by making 60 treys on the season, two more than Colin Parker’s record 12 years ago. Bonderer also hit seven treys against Cameron on February 23rd. That puts him in a five-way tie for second place all time in a single game.
The team scored just over 51 points per game, led by Bonderer with 14.4 points per game and Hayden Simmer with 13.6 points per game. Simmer led the team in two-point shots with 84, whole Bonderer led in shooting percentage at 57.8%.
Bonderer and Simmer had similar success at the free throw line with Bonderer shooting 7.4% and Simmer at 75% at the charity stripe.
Bonderer led in rebounds with 154, 14 more than Simmer and 26 more than Freshman James Mathew.
Mason Baxter led in assists with 89 and in steals in 41.
Chillicothe graduates three seniors, including two starters.
