Chillicothe FCCLA Members To Compete At National STAR Event

Ten members of the Chillicothe FCCLA have qualified to compete in National STAR Events.  STAR stands for Students Taking Action with Recognition.  The events will be held at the end of June.

Fifteen members competed in the Missouri FCCLA State STAR Events. These students completed a project in their chosen categories and then videotaped their project presentations. The students can earn a gold, silver, or bronze medal and the top 2 entries in each category advance to the National STAR Events.

Local students advancing to nationals include:

Kalee Collis received gold in Early Childhood Education

Emma Crowe received the top gold in Early Childhood Education,

The team of Ethan Elliott, Deanna Jones, & Ilyce Peel earned a silver in Event Management,

Kylee Clariday earned the top gold in Teach & Train

Gena Schuler & Beronica Rodriguez earned silver in Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreation

Kayleigh Campbell & Angalina Evans earned gold in Promote & Publicize FCCLA!

Competing at state but not moving on to nationals are:

Seth Condron earned gold in Career Investigation

Morgan Newman earned silver in Leadership

Mallory Grable earned bronze in Focus on Children

Kayla Kaye earned gold in Repurpose & Redesign

Chelsea Whiteman earned silver in Teach & Train
