Late Inning Surge Halts Hornets

Two big innings gave Savannah a 7 to 5 win over the Chillicothe Hornets baseball team. Savannah scored three in the bottom of the third thanks in part to two errors and a bases loaded walk.
Chillicothe answered with one in the fourth thanks to an error by the Savannah catcher.
The Hornets scored three in the fourth with two runs off a Mason Baxter single that scored Landon Winder and Griff Bonderer, following a double steal. Later in the inning Baxter stole home for a 4 to 3 Hornets lead.
Savannah scored four in the bottom of the sixth with two outs to retake the lead.
Chillicothe scored in the top of the seventh off a single to the shortstop that scored one, making the final score 7 to 5.
Mason Baxter had the start on the mound with Griff Bonderer in relief.
At the plate, Bonderer, Baxter and Brock Ward each had two hits and Landon Winder had one. Baxter had two RBI and 3 stolen bases. Bonderer had two steals, Gage Leamer, Brock Ward and Landon Winder each stole a base.
Savannah had a double and five singles.
