Kansas City St Pius X edged Chillicothe in girls soccer 1-0 with a goal in the 2nd half in the 48th minute.
However, Chillicothe Goal Keeper Allie Italino was a beast with an amazing 23 saves in the game for the Lady Hornets.
Coach Jimmy Chapman said one of the saves was a penalty kick attempt early in the first half. He said his defense did play very well, forcing Pius to take low percentage shots, which made Italian’s night easier.
He stated the Lady Hornets offense were not able to generate many scoring chances, but did have a couple shot attempts.
The Pius JV also won, 2-0. Goal Keeper Hadley Beemer had seven saves for the Lady Hornets JV.
