Accident Results In Arrest For Alleged Trafficking Drugs

The investigation of a single-vehicle accident on March 31st resulted in a drug arrest.  Sheriff Steve Cox says in the accident on US 36 near LIV 261, the driver fled before officers arrived.  The vehicle, a pick-up, was towed and impounded.

Cox says the person claiming to be the driver of the pick-up was to contact the Sheriff’s Office.  Before picking up the vehicle, but, the Sheriff found they were going directly to the tow company.  A deputy was waiting at the location when the driver arrived to retrieve the vehicle, riding with someone else.  The report states as they arrived, the driver of the vehicle tossed an item from the vehicle.  That item was found to contain a large quantity of methamphetamine, manicured marijuana, and syringes.

Zaki was called to the scene and alerted to the odor of drugs in the vehicle that had wrecked and evidence was seized.

Sheriff Cox says they arrested 40-year-old Jonathan Ryan Prebe, of Edina, MO for alleged Trafficking Methamphetamine.  He was held at the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail with bond set at $50,000.

A woman was cited for Careless and Imprudent Driving and Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle.
