Johnson & Johnson Vaccine Quarantined Due To Blood Clots

Livingston County Health Center canceled their Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine clinic today due to the quarantine issued for the Janssen vaccine.

The Health Center learned this morning (Tuesday) from the Missouri Department of Health, that all Johnson & Johnson Janssen one-dose vaccine has been quarantined and cannot be administered until further review.

The FDA has concerns over six reported U.S. cases of a rare and severe type of blood clot in individuals after receiving the J&J vaccine. All six cases occurred among women between the ages of 18 and 48, and symptoms occurred six to 13 days after vaccination.

Those who were scheduled to be vaccinated today at the Livingston County Health Center, and had provided a phone number, will be contacted when other vaccination opportunities become available.
