Zaki Helps Lead To Arrests

Livingston County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Officer Deputy Leadbetter and his partner, Zaki have been busy the last few weeks.
On March 31st they were summoned to assist the Highway Patrol on a vehicle stop. Zaki was alerted to the odor of drugs present in the vehicle. The Highway Patrol located a controlled substance.
On April 11th the duo was summoned to Linn County to assist Brookfield Police on an investigation of leaving the scene of an accident. Authorities located firearms and marijuana in a vehicle where the driver had fled on foot. Zaki established a track to a roadway where the scent stopped. Further investigation by authorities resulted in Linn County officers completing an arrest in the case.
On April 12th Zaki was called to assist the Highway Patrol on a one-vehicle crash on a county road. Information was given that one or more occupants of the vehicle were observed throwing items into the field. A search by Zaki located multiple containers of beer.
