Chillicothe Officers Attend Sexual Assault Investigation Training
Two members of the Chillicothe Police Department completed a sexual assault investigations training program. The program is called Making the Distance: From Initial Disclosure to the Courtroom. The Investigation & Prosecution of Sexual Assault Cases program allowed participants to navigated a fact pattern, starting with the initial disclosure, with a discussion of tips, strategies for interviews, evidence, charging decisions, addressing common defenses and case processing, so as to present the best possible case in court.
Detective Whitney Murdock and Officer Kami Nelson both reported the training was informative and will benefit the community and victims they work with.
Chief Jon Maples says his department makes these types of cases a top priority and our Detectives and Officers do a great job in conducting well-rounded investigations.
