Hornet Golfers 4th at LeBlond

The Chillicothe Boys Golf team finished fourth in the 12-team Bishop LeBlond Tournament. The host team won their own tournament by an impressive 41 strokes. The Golden Eagles of Bishop LeBlond had the top four individual golfers and fired a 296 on their home course. St Pius X was second with a 363.
Chillicothe Boys Golf Coach Jim Wheeler said LeBlond “is loaded and has no Seniors”.
Maryville was third with a 373 with Chillicothe 4th with a 381. Chillicothe was led by Colby Gillespie with an 84, good for 9th place individually. Jackson Trout shot a 94, Spencer Shira a 101, James Mathew a 102 and Dalton Ripley a 103.
Coach Wheeler said the Hornets “did well considering the course is very challenging, the wind was howling and all of them had either never played the course before, or hadn’t since 2019 when they were Sophomores.”
Chillicothe’s three Junior Varsity Golfers also played the course. Tyler Stephens shot a 107, Keagan Valbracht a 116 and Ethan Gabrielson a 130
Chillicothe plays in the Savannah Tournament on Thursday.
