Maryville beats Hornets in 9-innings

Maryville needed extra innings to beat the Chillicothe Hornets 7 to 6 in a nine-inning baseball game at Maryville.
Maryville scored one in the first and two in the second. Chillicothe responded with two in the fifth and three in the sixth. Maryville tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the sixth, and both scored a run in the seventh with Maryville stealing home.
In the Eighth inning Chillicothe had runners on first and second with one out but ended the inning with a fielder’s choice double play.
In the top of the ninth, the Hornets had a single and a walk with two outs but ended with a fielder’s choice out.
Maryville won the game on a walk, then reached on an error, driving home the winning run.
At the plate for Chillicothe, Mason Baxter had a triple, Brock Ward and Landon Winder each had a double and Brock Miller, Gage Leamer, and Tucker Wagers each had a single.
Chillicothe used five pitchers that, in total, allowed seven runs, six earned, off of eleven hits with six strike outs and five walks.
