Late Inning Loss for Hornets

The Chillicothe Baseball team once again suffered a late inning setback in a 7-6 loss at St Joseph Benton
Benton scored one in each of the first three innings and three in the fourth. The Hornets fought back with one in the second and two in the fifth, then tied the score in the top of the sixth.
The Hornets started the sixth with a Brock Miller double, a Gabe Hansen Walk, then after a strike out, Tucker Wagers singled on a fly ball to score Miller. Mason Baxter then walked to load the bases. After a strike out Brock Ward and Landon Winder both walked on eight straight pitches to tie the score.
Benton picked up the winning run on a single, two batters were hit by a pitch then scored the winning run on a wild pitch.
At the plate, Brock Miller was impressive going two for two with a triple and double and two walks. Griff Bonderer, Landon Winder and Tucker Wagers all singled.
Winder had the start and went four innings. Gage Leamer finished the game. The two combined to allow seven runs, four earned, off nine hits with four strike outs and five walks.
