Livingston County Sheriff’s Report

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department report for early May includes several incidents and arrests.

May 11th, Deputies began an investigation of burglary and stealing of tools from a farm in the 23000 block of LIV 389.

May 14th, School Resource Officer Mike Lewis filed a report of a CHS student who allegedly made threats to one or more other students.  Parents, school administration and the juvenile office are handling this case.

LCSO is currently investigating multiple assault cases, child abuse, and other crimes they hope to report on in the near future.

Most Wanted Arrests:

May 2nd, 40-year-old Gaylord D. Humphrey of Trenton surrendered on a Livingston County warrant for alleged Probation Violation.  He was transferred to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.

May 10th, 29-year-old Tyler Dillon King of Sparta was arrested in Holt County, on a Livingston County warrant for alleged Failure to Appear on 2 counts of Non-Support.  Bond set at $1,000 cash.  He was held for extradition.

Other Arrests:

May 5th, Deputies arrested 60-year-old Harold Dean Gray of Chillicothe on a warrant for alleged DWI-Chronic Offender.  Bond was set at $25,000.  He was held at the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.

May 5th,  at 11:52 p.m. a deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense and stop led to the arrest of 38-year-old James Lee Vail III, of Chillicothe for alleged Driving While Suspended and DWI-2nd offense.   He was processed and released.

May 6th at 8:08 a.m. deputies arrested 49-year-old Jennifer Jane Simmons of Chillicothe, on Livingston County warrant for alleged Abuse or Neglect of a Child-no sexual contact.  She was held on $7,500 bond.

May 6th at 11:25 a.m, Deputies arrested 38-year-old Olivia Laray Tuttle of Iowa, on a Livingston County warrant for alleged Possession of Controlled Substance.  Tuttle posted bond of $5,000.

May 6th, deputies arrested 28-year-old Kegan Scott Swartz of Columbia on a Livingston County warrant for alleged Fail To Register as a Sex Offender.  He is held on $10,000 bond.

May 6th at 9:30 p.m. a deputy stopped a vehicle on U.S. 36 for traveling 90 in a 65 and subsequently arrested 49-year-old Arlando D. Staten of Kansas City, MO on a Linn County warrant for alleged Exceeded Posted Speed Limit with a $200 bond and a Pettis County arrest warrant for alleged Failure to Appear in Court on a Moving Traffic Violation with a $150 bond.  He was cited for 90 in a 65 in Livingston County and posted bond on the warrants.

May 10th, deputies extradited 29-year-old Jessica Dawn Dryer from Carroll County, on a Livingston County warrant for alleged Failure to Appear on a charge of alleged stealing and trespassing.  She posted $250 bond and was released.

May 13th at 1:06 p.m. in Utica a deputy arrested 44-year-old Melissa Renee York on Chillicothe Municipal warrant for alleged Failure to Appear on an original charge of no insurance.  She posted and was released.
