Sheriff’s Department Investigations

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department report for the later portion of May includes an assault report in Wheeling that led to an arrest.

Early on May 17th, deputies responded to report of assault and burglary at a location on North Sherman in Wheeling. The victim, a 58-year-old female reported having a conversation with the suspect earlier and the man reportedly broke the screen door of the residence, entered and violently assaulted the woman even choking the victim telling her he would kill her.

Deputies arrived and suspect was arrested at a different home and his alleged violence continued as the suspect attempted to head butt a deputy and was making verbal threats to find and harm the deputy.

Arrested was Robert Wayne Renshaw Jr., 50, Wheeling.  Mr. Renshaw was taken to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail by 2 LCSO staff members due to his actions.  Renshaw has since been charged with alleged Assault, Harassment, and Resisting Arrest.

 

May 19th, deputies responded to a location in Chula on a report of a person allegedly allowing child(ren) in the home to smoke marijuana.  Investigation resulted in the person of interest providing the deputy with drug paraphernalia for both marijuana and methamphetamine.  LCSO deputy issued a summons to a 37-year-old female for drug paraphernalia possession.  Evidence being submitted to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Lab.

May 21st  deputies began an investigation on theft of 2 stolen firearms from a rural resident.  The theft(s) took place sometime in or since March 2021 and both weapons were in the victim’s vehicle.

May 24th, deputies responded to the 21000 block of LIV 226 for a family domestic disturbance and assault.  Investigation shows 3 adults being 2 males and 1 female are listed as suspects in alleged criminal acts.  Incident report and 3 probable cause statements being submitted to the prosecuting attorney for consideration of charges.

May 27th deputies and a State Trooper responded to a location in Wheeling on a report of an assault where a firearm was discharged.  The investigation resulted in the arrest of 33-year-old Joshua Steven Knouse of Wheeling of alleged Domestic Assault.

May 27 LCSO began an investigation of possible Sexual Misconduct Involving a Child.  Parents and named suspect have been interviewed. Investigation continues at this time.
