Mudcats Fall To Nevada in 10

The Chillicothe Mudcats lost their only game of the weekend on Saturday to the Nevada Griffins 9 to 7 in ten innings.

Chillicothe fell behind early against the Griffins, trailing 7-0 at one point in the game. In the bottom of the 6th, the Mudcats found momentum  fuels by a host of errors on the Nevada defense, leading to four Mudcats runs.The Mudcats offense continued into the 7th where Chillicothe outfielder Braedyn Brewer came up clutch with a 2-out, 2-run triple to cut the lead to just one run.
After a Nevada pitching chance, Brewer scored the tying run on a wild pitch. He would finish the game with three hits and three RBIs.
Both teams held the other scoreless, with Mudcats pitcher Cole Mammenga pitching 3.1 scoreless innings in relief.
In the 10th inning, Nevada scored two in the top of the inning, and held the Mudcats scoreless, including striking out the MINK league RBI leader Grayson Barrett and outfielder Lucas Loos to halt a Mudcat comeback attempt.
After an off day Sunday the Mudcats play at Jefferson City to start a week-long road trip. Today’s game at Jefferson city starts with the pregame show at 6:50pm and first pitch at 7:00pm on KCHI
