Sheriff’s Report – Incidents and Arrests

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department reports several investigations and arrests through the past several weeks.

Some of the incidents include:

June 3rd, property damage was reported in the 10000 block of LIV 237.  Someone had driven through a yard.  Sheriff Cox says they later learned the person responsible had located the victim and paid for the damages.

June 4th, deputies responded to a report of a toddler found walking outside in a diaper unattended.  The deputies located the child, who was found to be safe.  They also learned the parent/caretaker had been getting a bottle for the child when the toddler exited the front door.  The door has since been fixed so the incident can not happen again.

June 15 at 1:15 a.m. deputies responded to a church camp on Highway 190, where a child was reported missing.  Deputies, Zaki, Chillicothe Police, and Missouri State Highway Patrol responded.  The area was searched and the young child was found… sleeping in another bunk with a cousin.

Arrests in the report include:

June 5th, authorities in Lafayette County arrested 55-year-old Curtis L. Bassett on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Leaving Scene of Accident.

June 4th deputies arrested 43-year-old Kathy Jo Young at the Livingston County Courthouse to serve a 10-day jail sentence.

June 7th, deputies arrested 81-year-old William Graham Wilson of Chillicothe on a Municipal warrant for alleged nuisance ordinance violation. He posted $200 bond and was given a new court date.

June 14th, 60-year-old Randy Wayne Adair of Wheeling was arrested on a Daviess County warrant for alleged Failure to Appear.

A Livingston County Sheriff’s Deputy had a run-in with a deer on June 12th.  The report states the deputy attempted to avoid hitting the deer that had run into the road.  The patrol vehicle struck the deer doing minimal damage to the vehicle thanks to the push bumper the patrol vehicle has installed.
