July 4th Picnic Foods

As many food prices seem to be climbing, the US Department of Agriculture says the July 4th Picnic could cost less this year.

USDA Livestock analyst Shale Shagman says last year COVID was affecting supply and cost.

Shagum says restaurant closures also caused a shift in where the product was going.

He says that has changed for the better.

Poultry production is also up about 6%.

Shagum says the cut of meat will affect consumer pricing.

Poultry prices will be generally down.

Watch for specials and sales leading up to the fourth to stock up on the meats you will need for your gathering.
