Using Fireworks In Chillicothe

The July Fourth – Independence Day holiday has arrived and some early celebrations will take place in area communities and maybe even in your own yard.  The Chillicothe Police Department reminds residents the use of fireworks inside the city limits is restricted to July 1st to the 4th, starting at 8:00 am each day.  They may be used until 10:00 pm on the 1st 2nd and 3rd and until 11:00 pm on the fourth.  Sargent Curtis Hays says they also restrict the type of fireworks you can use.

Area health care and emergency service personnel remind us all to NEVER light fireworks in your hand, keep children a safe distance away from fireworks when they are in use and any youngster using fireworks should have adult supervision.  If you have a dud, do not try to relight it!  Douse it with water and dispose of it in the trash.

And the Chillicothe City Code also requires you to clean up any debris from your fireworks.
