Chillicothe Man Escapes Injury

Four people were injured in a four-car accident in Clinton County Saturday afternoon. However, a Chillicothe resident involved in the crash escaped injury.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a car driven by 60-year-old John Copeland of Chillicothe was southbound on I-35 in the passing lane, one mile north of Holt, and slowed for congestion. A car driven by a 41-year-old Centerville, Iowa woman struck the Copeland car from behind, causing a chain reaction accident that involved a vehicle driven by a 74-year-old Debuque, Iowa man and a vehicle driven by a 73-year-old Betty Dignan of Cameron.
Injured were two people in the Centerville, Iowa vehicle. One was taken to Liberty Hospital with serious injuries and the driver to Cameron hospital with moderate injuries. Two people in the Dubuque, Iowa vehicle suffered minor injuries and were taken to Liberty Hospital.
