Chillicothe Police Report For Wednesday

The Chillicothe Police Department responded to 90 calls for service Wednesday.  Some of the calls include:

1:04 am, Officers checking an open door on a vehicle at Calhoun and Jefferson Streets.  Officer contacted the owner and OK.

1:23 am, Request to check for a possible fire in a residence on Springhill Street near Monroe.  No fire observed.

7:04 am, Officers reported to a home in the 200 block of Cowgill Street to report of a person who had passed away.  A 56-year-old woman was found to have died during the night and Coroner was called to take custody of the body.  No sign of foul play was observed.

10:13 am, Officers followed up on numerous incidents of theft, property damage in the uptown and surrounding area.  As a result, cases of vehicle theft, property damage, burglary and attempted burglary, and stealing have been solved and items recovered. Two suspects have been apprehended.  One subject was incarcerated at Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail and a Juvenile was transported and housed at a Juvenile Detention Center.  Charges are pending.

11:31 am, Officers received a report of assault on a female in the 1000 block of First Street.  A suspect that is known to the victim has been identified and the investigation continuing.

1:17 pm, Officers arrested a 41-year-old subject for violating a protection order.  Bond was posted and the person was released pending a court appearance.

5:12 pm, Officer made a traffic stop and the person in the vehicle was wanted on a Caldwell County warrant.  Subject transported to PD and cash appearance bond was posted, court date assigned.

6:51 pm, Officers received a call of alleged child abuse that had occurred at Chilli Bay by an adult striking a juvenile.   One adult individual was arrested, processed and transported to Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail in lieu of charges.

8:23 pm, an individual was calling to speak with Officer with questions on reporting an assault.  They were advised to bring the victim to PD to make a report and provide information.
