The 8th grade Chillicothe football team opened their season with a 28-0 loss to Cameron.
The Hornets were down 20-0 at halftime, but coach Doug French said the second half showed promise. He stated poor field position and an injury to Quarterback Oliver Perry forced some backups to take a safety on the opening drive of the second half, and the defense gave up one more touchdown later in the quarter.
French pointed to Jack Marshall nearly breaking loose for a score on a kickoff return, and led the team in tackles. He also pointed to good performances on defense by Connor Peery and Tomas DelaRosa.
