Chillicothe Municipal Utilities Tree Trimming for 2021 is underway and the 2022 trimming will begin after the first of the year. During the tree trimming, they clear the tree branches back from the power lines to prevent outages caused by falling limbs or wind-blown branches.
CMU General Manager Matt Hopper says the trimming is done in a three-year cycle. Hopper says the 2021 trimming area includes the west side of Chillicothe.

The remainder, from the viaduct west and south and from Polk and Washington east and south, was done in 2020 and is on the schedule again for 2023.
