A single-vehicle accident Saturday morning in Chariton County left the driver with serious injuries. State Trooper report 33-year-old Dougie A Bruce of Sunrise Beach was flown to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of serious injuries suffered when he was ejected from his vehicle. According to the report, Bruce was westbound on Route M, west of Triplett at about 10:29 am and ran off the right side of the road. He struck a guard rail and crossed the road, his vehicle overturned down an embankment and he was ejected. He was not wearing a safety belt.
