CHS Lady Hornets Roll in Season Opener

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets Basketball team scored the first 13 points in the game and rolled up a 72 to 11 win at home over Penney of Hamilton.
Chillicothe led 22 to 3 after the first quarter, with all three of Hamilton points coming at the free throw line.
Chillicothe led 52 to 3 at half and 68 to 6 after three quarters.
Chillicothe Coach Darren Smith said winning by a large margin is not always a good thing.

The 61 point winning margin is tied for fourth best all time for Chillicothe girls basketball.
Chillicothe had 12 treys including 7 from Jessica Reeter, a mark that ties for second best in a single game. Reeter finished with 25 points, Ellie Barnett and Lucy Reeter each had 10, Delanie Kieffer had five, Kayanna Cranmer, Jolie Bonderer, Clara Leamer and Izzie Montgomery each had four points and, Essie Hicks and Cali Burkhardt with three each. Bre Pithan also had playing time.
The Chillicothe Junior Varsity won 43 to 12 with 10 players scoring.
