Chillicothe Police Report For Friday – Sunday

Nearly 250 calls for service were handled by Chillicothe Police officers from Friday through Sunday.

The Chillicothe Police Department report for Friday includes 122 calls for service.

2:51 PM, Officers responded to the 700 block of Elm Street for a man causing a disturbance.  Officers contacted the man and trespassed him from the business.

3:30 PM, Officers responded to the intersection of Polk St. and Broadway St. for a suicidal subject. Upon arrival Officers made contact with the suspect who was taken into protective custody without further incident.

9:46 PM, Officers responded to the 200 block of Herriford Street to investigate a report of possible child abuse.  Suspects have been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

10:33 PM, Officers responded to the 500 block of Bus 36 Hwy for a man causing a disturbance.  Officers contacted the man and trespassed him from the business.

 

On Saturday, Officers handled 57 calls for service

00:10 AM Officers responded to a business in the 300 block of Business 36 Highway for an individual outside attempting to gain entry to the locked business, pulling on the door, and yelling he had a gun. Officers arrived and located the individual.  Officers had contact with the individual earlier in the day about interrupting another business.  A 27-year-old man from Hannibal was arrested for a peace disturbance.  He was held at the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.

11:41 AM, Officers took a report of a stolen license plate.

02:51 PM, Officers responded to the 600 block of Locust for an accident where someone struck a vehicle and left.

03:00 PM, Officers attempted a warrant service on an individual in the 1000 block of Washington Street.  A 38-year-old man was arrested on four warrants from Livingston County and the City of Chillicothe for failing to appear for traffic citations.  The man could not post bond and was held at the Daviess/DeKalb Regional Jail.

 

Sunday, there were 79 calls for service, including:

01:18 AM Officers took a call from a resident receiving calls from someone saying they were an FBI Agent and telling the person they need to pay got get their number off being red-flagged.  The local resident paid the person and is now worried it is a scam.  —  the Chillicothe Police say this is a scam.  Never pay someone over the phone without verifying who you are paying.

08:27 AM Officers worked a two-vehicle accident without injuries in the 400 block of Washington.

02:23 AM, Officers responded to 828 Woodward Drive for a disturbance.  The caller advised the resident was struggling with a man who was assaulting others at the residence.  Officers attempted to arrest the man and he resisted arrested and would not comply with officers.  Officers arrested a 23-year-old man from Hannibal for assault and resisting arrest.  He was taken to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.

10:55 AM, Officers responded to the intersection of Jackson Street and Washington Street for an accident.  One driver was cited for following to close.  No injuries were reported.
