The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department reports that recently, Deputy Jordan Williams observed a vehicle leaving a local car dealership and stopped the driver for a traffic offense.
The car was found to be stolen from Independence and items in the vehicle were also reported as stolen.
The driver was identified as 26-year-old Drayton Lee Williams of Independence. He was arrested for the alleged Tampering with a Motor Vehicle.
According to the report, Williams was uncooperative during the investigation and was incarcerated in the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail. He has been charged in Livingston County Associate Court for alleged Tampering with a Motor Vehicle with a bond set at $25,000.
