A Cameron teen had serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident just north of Cameron. State Troopers report the accident happened about 3:55 pm as the 15-year-old was southbound on SE Irwin Road at SE Smith Road and was traveling too fast around a curve. He ran off the road and struck a tree. The teen was not wearing a safety belt and had serious injuries. He was taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital for treatment.
