Shooting Victim Arrested For Parole Violation

A man who had been shot following an argument Tuesday evening was arrested Wednesday.  Livingston County Sheriff’s Department investigated the report of a shooting Tuesday at about 5:10 pm in the 500 block of East Polk, just outside the city Chillicothe city limits.

Livingston County Sheriff Steve Cox says the preliminary information suggests a man was allegedly intoxicated when an argument took place between him and another man.  The intoxicated man was reportedly angry and charged at the other man who then discharged a handgun toward the ground but stuck the intoxicated man in the leg.  That man was taken to the hospital and was treated and released.

The following day, the Missouri Probation and Parole Officer(s) requested assistance while they conducted their own investigation at the scene and then took the individual who had been shot in the leg into custody for alleged parole violations, as he is on parole for felony DWI.

The case remains under investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department, Chillicothe Police, and Missouri Probation and Parole.  A final report will be sent to the Prosecuting Attorney for consideration.
