Death Investigated At Poosey Conservation Area

The body of a Blue Springs man was found at the Poosey Conservation area Saturday.  The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department responded to the Wind Pump Trail after receiving the call at about 2:47 pm.  Jamesport residents reported finding the body.

The Sheriff’s office was assisted in the investigation by the Missouri Highway Patrol and Department of Conservation.  The Coroners’ office took possession of the body and an autopsy has been requested.

Sheriff Steve Cox says the man was identified as 45-year-old Michael Daniel Daly of Blue Springs.  He says the preliminary investigation suggests the man was homeless and exposure to the weather most likely contributed to the cause of death.

Records show Daly had been contacted by deputies twice in December and refused assistance when offered.  Cox says Daly had been dead for several weeks.  The family has been notified.
