Chillicothe Budget Workshop

The Chillicothe City Council Budget workshop includes discussions on projects and expenditures for each of the departments.  City Auditor Hannah Fletcher says the projected budget is about $15 million.  They are budgeting for a 5% increase in sales tax revenue and are also considering a 5% Cost of Living Adjustment fo the employees.

Projects under consideration include:

For the Fire Department, a classroom building at the Training Center

For the Police Department, upgrades in equipment including body cameras and tasers.

The council wants to continue with the demolition of dilapidated structures.

They also want to work on Phase 2 and 3 of the Street program that includes full-depth asphalt, concrete streets, curb and gutter and the street crew doing overlay and chip seal work

The Parks Department wants to step up the maintenance at Chilli Bay, including painting of the pool.

Another workshop is scheduled for 5:00 pm on March 14th, that is just prior to the regular council session.
