Drugs, Spike Strips, Assault All In Chillicothe Police Report

Chillicothe police responded to nearly 250 calls for service from Friday through Sunday.  Some of the calls include:

Friday,

10:42 AM, Officers took a report of a counterfeit bill passed at a business in the 800 block of Webster Street.

2:31 PM, Officers were called to the Chillicothe Correctional Center on a report of a visitor bringing narcotics into the facility.   Officers arrested a 36-year-old woman from Independence for the delivery of a controlled substance at a correctional facility.  She was held at the Daviess DeKalb Regional Jail pending the filing of formal charges.

7:08 PM, Officers responded to the 300 block of 11th Street for a report of Emergency Services Employees assaulted by a resident with a firearm.  The officers found the weapon was a pellet gun.  Charges are pending as a result of this investigation.

Saturday,

9:29 AM, Officers made a well-being check in the 1100 block of Calhoun Street.  A resident was found to be deceased from probable natural causes.

1:10 PM, Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 500 block of South Washington Street.  They arrested a 58-year-old man for possession of a controlled substance.  He was taken to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.

Sunday,

12:06 AM, Officers used stop sticks on US 36 to assist the Livingston County and Caldwell County Sheriff’s Offices.  They were chasing a stolen vehicle that was failing to stop on Eastbound US 36.  The stop sticks were successful and the vehicle was stopped.  The driver was placed under arrest.
