Severe Weather Awareness – Hail & Wind

As Severe Weather Preparedness Week Continues, the topic for today is Hail and Wind.  National Weather Service Meteorologist Pamela Pietrycha says hail can be dangerous to people and property.

One of the criteria that indicates a severe Thunder Storm is large hail.  Pietrycha says large hail is any hail that measures 1 inch or large.

Wind is another factor in severe weather that Pietrycha says many underestimate.

Friday, the Severe Weather Awareness Topic is Flooding.
