Fire Destroys Two Buildings In Downtown Brookfield

The Brookfield Fire Department responded to a building fire this morning at 305 North Main Street in downtown Brookfield.  The department requested mutual aid from Chillicothe, which responded with its larger aerial truck and three personnel.  Chillicothe Fire Chief Eric Reeter says by early afternoon his department had pumped more than 150,000 gallons of water into the fire.  That does not include the water used by the Brookfield firefighters.

The fire scene includes two buildings that were destroyed and the roof collapsed on at least one of the buildings.  The State Fire Marshall was also on the scene.
