CHS Girls Soccer Wins Chris Hotop Classic at Mexico High School

The Chillicothe High School girls soccer team is the champion of the Chris Hotop Classic hosted by Mexico High School.

Game 1

The Lady Hornets dismantled KC East High School, 8-0.  Lucy Reeter recorded the first Chillicothe hat trick of the young season with goals in the 22nd, 37th and 42nd minutes. Juliann Gabrielson and Sophia Luetticke assisted on the first two goals and the last was an unassisted strike.

CHS led a 6-0 lead at the half as Gabrielson, Luetticke, Rylee Washburn and Delanie Kieffer also found the back of the net in the first 45 minutes. Claire Ripley added the other tally in the 2nd half.

Goal Keeper, Allie Italiano, did not have to make a single save.

Head Coach Jimmy Chapman said, “Great win, moved the ball well and created a lot of chances. Got to play 21 different players and everybody got better”.

Game 2

The win, placed the Lady Hornets in the tournament championship game against Owensville High School.

Gabrielson capitalized off a feed from Lucy Reeter to score the first goal of the game for the Lady Hornets.

Lucy Reeter did the rest of the Hornet scoring as she tallied her 2nd hat trick of the day with goals in the 23rd, 58th, and 60th minutes.  Jessica Reeter assisted on the first goal and Luetticke facilitated the second.

The Dutchmen did manage 2 goals in the game from the same player.

The Lady Hornets won the game 4-2. They won the tournament after playing two games in one day and were missing some players.

“Had some girls leave at halftime to be in the play, girls played hard all day in windy conditions and battled through tired legs. Played hard and played together and I couldn’t have asked for more out of them!” said Chapman.
