Chillicothe Baseball Falls to Macon in 5 Innings

Chillicothe baseball was in action last night against Macon High School. The game was originally scheduled to take place at Macon, but turf installment running long moved the game to Shaffer Park.

The Hornets sent Gage Leamer to the bump to square off against Chrisjen Riekenberg.

Cold temps made it difficult for any pitcher to get a decent grip on the ball.

Leamer was relieved after 2.2 after allowing six runs, five unearned. Riekenberg lasted the same length but did not allow a run to Chillicothe.

Chillicothe had a rough night on offense and were only able to collect two hits from Landon Winder and Wyatt Brandsgaard.  The squad was able to draw five walks out of Macon pitchers.

Three errors plagued the Hornet defense.

The Tigers collected seven hits as a team and earned eight walks and were able to plate ten runs. Jakub Swallow was Macon’s top performer on offense going 2 for 2 with a run scored and a base on balls.

Chillicothe got bested 10-0 in 5 innings.  Junior Varsity picked up a win 10-3.

Varsity will look to get right at home against Richmond Wednesday night at 4:30.
