Chillicothe Boys’ Tennis Downed by St. Pius

Chillicothe Boys Tennis Wins Districts Over Trenton, 5-4

With baseball and track canceled yesterday, the Hornet’s boys’ tennis team was the sole program in action last night.

They squared off against the Warriors of St. Pius at Danner Park.

Doubles

The Hornets were swept in doubles play with the tandem of Chace Corbin and Josh Adams falling 6-8, Gabe Peterson and Emmet Young lost 6-8 and the team of Jadon Collins and Shayden Hawkins fell 4-8.

Singles

CHS had two wins on the night.  One from Chace Corbin who bested Robert Sharp 8-3 in the top singles match. The other came from Emmet Young who defeated Nate Truong in the number 3 singles match 9-8 (8-6).

Gabe Peterson and Jackson Reeter both lost 5-8 in their respective singles matches.  Josh Adams was beat 1-8, and Jadon Collins also fell in his singles match 2-8.

The Hornets dropped the match 2-7 and drop to 1-1 on the year.

They will look to conquer the Carrollton Trojans at Danner Park on April 6.

Junior Varsity

In Junior Varsity, Shayden Hawkins and Anthony Trantham were victorious, 6-3,  in doubles.

JV will compete in the Maryville JV Tournament on Monday April, 4
