CHS Band Students Headed To State Music Festival

Several Chillicothe High School band students performed at the MSHSAA District Music Festival in solos and small ensembles.  The event was held at St Joe Central High School in St  Joe.

Band Director Sarah Cavanaugh says students earning a Gold/Exemplary award and advancing to state competition on April 30th at Mizzou include: Halie Gault, Lauren Cavanah, and Julietta Keller – woodwind trio;  Shayden Hawkins – baritone sax solo; Halie Gault – flute solo; Julietta Keller – alto clarinet solo; and  Elizabeth Lance – clarinet solo.

Students earning a Silver/Outstanding award are: Kayla Cakranata – clarinet solo; Elisabeth Lance, Micah Crowe, and Kayla Cakranata – clarinet trio; Cameron Williams – euphonium solo; Heidi Gault –  tuba solo; Zoey Warren – alto sax solo; Clayton Savage – trombone solo; Jalen Saucedo – Yoo Jung Lee, and Alton Keller – trumpet solos; Shayden Hawkins, Gavin Funk, and Amanda Brade – saxophone trio; Sophia Miller, Halie Gault, and Mary Taylor – flute trio; Alton Keller, Yoo Jung Lee, and Landyn Peterson – trumpet trio.

Earning a Bronze/Satisfactory Rating: Landyn Peterson – trumpet solo.
