Lady Hornets Soccer Defeated by Mid-Buchanan in PKs

Chillicothe girls soccer was at Mid-Buchannan High School on Thursday night hoping their offensive explosion from Tuesday night would carry over.

The first half featured one goal, and that was Lucy Reeter netting a pass from Juliann Gabrielson in the 25th minute.

The Lady Dragons of Mid-Buc were held without a goal in the game, but they managed a tally in their favor when the Hornets played a ball into their own net in the 72nd minute to tie the game at 1. Regulation ended in a tie.

Head Coach Jimmy Chapman said the Hornets offense was able to create three times as many chances as Mid-Buc, but they weren’t hitting the back of the net.

After a score-less overtime period, we were on to PKs.

After the first two PKs, the Hornets needed to make up some ground. Mid-Buc’s Emily Parrot and Alika Koon made the first two while Chillicothe’s Hailee Williams and Juliann Gabrielson missed the first two.

Hadley Beemer stonewalled a PK from Liv Moeki that gave the Hornets a chance to climb back in to the PK battle after Lucy Reeter nailed her PK.

Even with Skyler Power’s success in her PK, the Lady Dragons went on to convert on their next two kicks to win the PK bout 4-2.

Mid-Buchanan topped Chilli 2-1 after PKs. The Lady Hornets drop to 9-5 on the season.

Chillicothe will get a shot at Bishop LeBlond when the Eagles visit on April 25 at 5pm.
