Lady Hornets Set Two Program Records in Regular Season Finale Win

Lady Hornets Soccer Falls in District Semi-Finals to Maryville

The Lady Hornets Soccer Club concluded their regular season last night went they went to St. Joseph for a meeting with Lafayette.

In the first half, the Chillicothe netted three goals against the Fighting Irish. Those coming from Sophia Luetticke, Haliee Williams, and Lucy Reeter who tied her program record for goals in a season with 28 on the tally.

It was 3-0 at half. Then in the 2nd, Williams was able to add a third goal in two days to her ledger. Juliann Gabrielson was able to make a streak out of 2-goal performances as she did it for the second night in a row against Lafayette.

Later in the game, Gabrielson fed the foot of Lucy Reeter who netted her 29th goal of the regular season, breaking her single-season record set just last year. Reeter now has scored 57 times in two years.

Jessica Reeter collected 2 assists and Delanie Kieffer had 3.

The Lady Hornets took the win over the Fighting Irish 7-0, and reach 15 wins for the 4th season in a row. They also broke a record for goals scored in a season with 78.

They now wait to start districts on Monday when they’ll host Excelsior Springs at 6:45 at Jerry Litton.
