The bid for the Bridge replacement north of Wheeling was awarded (pending final verification) to MS Contracting in Brookfield and totaled $447,647. Presiding Commissioner Ed Douglas says this is a 71-foot bridge and the work is expected to start in July and be complete in 120 days from closing the bridge.
Douglas says the bid was the lowest of five bids received and was under the engineer’s estimate.
