Chillicothe Bombed by Sedalia, 12-4; Drop to 0-3.

CHILLICOTHE – Sedalia exploded for 10 runs in the fifth inning, shooting the Bombers in front to cruise to a 12-4 win over Chillicothe at Shaffer Park Friday.

The Bombers sent 15 batters to the plate in the fifth, racking up six walks and six hits, two of which were for extra bases. Adam Webb led Sedalia with three hits.

Chillicothe outhit Sedalia in the contest 15 to 13, but those hits were scattered. The Mudcats struggled to find hits in clutch situations and stranded 16 runners on base.

Chillicothe took the lead in the fourth inning on a Jonas Espinal RBI double, putting the Mudcats in front 2-1 at the time. The 10-run fifth immediately followed for Sedalia.

Brayden Hudson doubled twice and drove in two in the leadoff spot for Chillicothe. Koby Linder turned in two shutout innings on the bump at the back end of the bullpen.

With the loss, the Mudcats fall to 0-3 on the young season.

The Mudcats will continue their search for a victory when they return to Shaffer Park Saturday for another tangle with the Sedalia Bombers. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. C.T.
