Election Authority Responds To Issues With Some Dominion Equipment

While the possibility of security issues with Dominion voting equipment has been revealed, and Livingston County uses a version of that equipment, there have been no issues with election results, testing, or audits of the results in Livingston County or Missouri for those using the Dominion equipment.

A Division of Homeland Security, CISA – Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, released information on an issue with Dominion voting equipment manufactured by Dominion Voting Systems.  The Missouri Secretary of State’s office says Missouri is one of several states notified of the vulnerability issue.  Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft says “As Dominion machines are used in certain counties in Missouri, my office has notified local election authorities regarding these concerns.  We will continue to make sure elections in Missouri are safe and secure.”

The Secretary of State’s office says to affect the election results in the way described in the report, a person would need full access, in person. to the machine, including passwords and additional hardware.

Livingston County Election Authority Sherry Parks says audits of local election results are conducted when the elections are complete.

Parks says Missouri has numerous statutes dealing with elections and voting.

The Missouri Secretary of State’s Office confirms there have been no election issues or voting equipment issues in Livingston County’s elections.
