Livingston Co. Sheriff – Incidents & Investigations

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department reported several incidents and investigations since late May.  Some of them include:

May 29 at 4:23 p.m. LCSO investigated a trespassing complaint in Ludlow.

May 30 at 10:09 a.m. LCSO began an investigation of possible burglary and theft from an unoccupied building in Dawn.

June 01 Deputies responded to Old Highway 190 to investigate a report of a suspicious person sitting in a vehicle.  The driver failed to yield but was finally halted.  The 45-year-old Chillicothe man was cited for Failing to Yield to an Emergency Vehicle, warned about Trespassing, and information was collected for potential prosecution.

June 01 LCSO collected information on a stolen ornament from a site in the Wheeling Cemetery.  Investigation remains open.

June 04 about 5:30 p.m. LCSO was responding to a report of careless and imprudent driving in Ludlow but was interrupted by an accident call.  The deputy was dispatched to a second call about the incident, this time that a citizen had since confronted the side by side vehicle driver and was carrying a crowbar.  That citizen allegedly removed the vehicle key and the parties separated until the deputy was on the scene.    The incident report has been completed and citation(s) being issued to the juvenile driver of the side by side vehicle and information on the alleged aggressive behaviors of the male with the crowbar who removed the vehicle key is being submitted to the prosecuting attorney for consideration.

June 06 mid-day LCSO deputy assigned to courthouse security heard a juvenile being very loud in the juvenile office and the deputy shut the juvenile office door as this was disrupting the other offices in the building.  A short time later the same deputy heard the juvenile yelling and disrupting the entire building and saw the juvenile flee from the juvenile officers and slamming the juvenile office door.  The juvenile attempted to get past the deputy but was apprehended and had to be physically restrained because of the violent behavior, resisting, and physical threats being made to the deputy.  The juvenile was taken to a facility in another town.
