The USDA says there are fewer acres in production this year, even though commodity prices are up. Deputy USDA Chief Economist Cindy Nickerson says the new USDA Acerage report shows acres planted are down.
Nickerson says there are many factors playing a part in the decisions.
Additionally, there are concerns of the market situation for crops and fees on exports.
