Missouri Highway Patrol Has Busy Weekend Locally; One Accident, Six Arrests Reported

Missouri Highway Patrol reported 1 accident and 6 arrests over the weekend in the local area.

8/13 (Saturday)

11:00 pm – Two Overland Park, Kansas residents were involved in an accident over the weekend. The driver was distracted by the GPS, and traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a sign and a utility pole. The passenger was seriously injured and was transported by Linn County Ambulance to Pershing Hospital in Brookfield.

3:31 am – 32-year-old Lance C Surber of Laredo was arrested for alleged DWI and careless driving resulting in a crash. He was transported to a relative’s residence and released.

1:50 pm – 55-year-old Madhusoodanan P Madhavan Pillai of Port Arthur, Texas was arrested for alleged driving while intoxicating and failure to use a turn signal. He was held at the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail for 24 hours.

5:26 pm – 39-year-old Jami B Barton of Carrollton was arrested for alleged failure to wear a properly fastened seatbelt on a warrant. She is being held at the Caldwell County Jail on bond.

8/14 (Sunday)

8:47 am – 33-year-old Todd M Hoeppner of Higginsville was arrested for alleged DWI, speeding 20-25 mph over the speed limit, and failure to wear a seatbelt. He was held at the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office and released.

6:17 pm – 21-year-old Taylor N Collier of Flint, Michigan was arrested for alleged possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was held at the Brookfield Police Department and released.

6:17 pm – 23-year-old Alana R Thompson of Grand Blanc, Michigan was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was held at the Brookfield Police Department and released.
