A report of a domestic dispute and gunshots Monday afternoon in Trenton lead to the discovery of a woman and a man who had been shot. In his preliminary report, Trenton Police Chief Rex Ross says they continue to investigate the incident that, for now, is considered a murder-suicide.
At about 4:05 pm, a 911 call reported a domestic dispute and gunshots at 2132 Sportsman Road. Trenton Police, Grundy County Sheriff’s Deputies, State Troopers, and the State Fire Marshal’s officers arrived to find 29-year-old Amber Nichole Gann and 36-year-old James Anthony Barr with gunshot wounds to their bodies.
Gann was pronounced dead at the scene by the Grundy County Coroner. Barr was flown to Kansas City where he later died of his injuries.
Chief Ross says the preliminary investigation continues into the apparent murder-suicide incident stemming from a domestic dispute. If you have any information, you are asked to call the Trenton Police Department at 660-359-2121.
