I grew up in a small town just south of Chicago, Illinois and have never called anywhere else home until now!  As a kid, I was a three sport athlete taking on baseball, football and wrestling throughout the year. That’s how I fell in love with sports. At the age of 9, I was diagnosed with Leukemia; and the side effects from my treatment stripped me of my ability to play sports competitively. I never lost my affinity for sports; so as a high schooler I wrote for the school newspaper and grew fond of sports journalism.

I studied journalism and media communications at Joliet Junior College, Southern Illinois University and North Central College, where I received my bachelor’s degree.  During my two years at North Central, I worked as the assistant sports director of WONC 89.1 FM and called men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, and softball.  I fell in love with radio when I traveled with NCC baseball to Tampa Bay, FL and got to cover the team for a week.

Sports have always been an important part of my life.  My dad raised me to love the Chicago Cubs, Bulls and… unfortunately… the Bears. My brother, Anthony is an accomplished wrestler at Lincoln College in Illinois.  For the past two years, I’ve been training in power lifting and recently joined the 1,000 lbs. club.  I really enjoy playing slow-pitch softball. Back in Joliet,  I would play 3-4 nights a week and my tournament team, “Walk It Off”, would play the weekends.

In addition, I have a tremendous support system that includes my girlfriend of 10 years, Nikki, my “Ma” and Nana, as well as my dad and two siblings; Anthony and Alayna.
