Marijuana Sales Tax Collection Begins In 2024

The collection of a 3% sales tax approved by the voters will begin in 2024.  Chillicothe City Administrator Roze Frampton explains what the tax is on. The new sales tax will only be collected on recreational marijuana sales in Chillicothe.  The tax WILL NOT be collected on medical marijuana.

Four Pay By Call personnel were hired by the City of Chillicothe Monday.  The City Council, in executive session, approved Firefighter Paramedic Ashley McHargue, Firefighter EMT Alyison Widner, Firefighter Rigdon Newsom, and Firefighter Brett Gabel. Starting Pay for all four is $13.91/hour.

An addendum for the City Engineering services contract with Allgeier Martin is for a road for the new Industrial Park.  City Administrator Roze Frampton says the addendum totals $646,000. The road must be built to handle large trucks that are expected as the industrial park is developed.
