A 20-year-old man had serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash in Chariton County Friday morning. State Troopers reported that at about 7:42 am the 20-year-old driver from Sumner was northbound on Missouri 139, south of Sumner, and ran off the road and struck an embankment. He was taken to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.

An Independence woman was arrested by State Troopers in Linn County Friday morning. At about 9:47 am, Troopers stopped and arrested 21-year-old Jaylah K. Tucker for alleged speeding and driving while suspended. Tucker was processed at the Brookfield Police Department and later released.
