As the tax season continues, the IRS reminds us all, that it is also phishing season – that’s phishing with a p h. The Dirty Dozen of scams is topped by the attempts to get your personal information. Michael Devine from the IRS says this comes in many forms.
Devine says the IRS will make contact with you be sending you a letter in the mail. They will not call or email you with requests for payments or information.
Devine says those phishing scams are also trying to get information from businesses.
Remember, it is seems like an unusual request, double check with the source before you send any personal information
